French Fridays… Dressing for France

I posted pics this week of my parents in Paris in 1959.  A little freaky for me, yes, but dang don’t they look cool?

I am prepping for Italie and striving for a little of this look~

Notice, no tennis shoes.  Suit and tie not required now-a-days. Sensible shoes, etc yes.  How do you dress when traveling in France?
Are you a classic? Or Contemporary?

No tennis shoes for me. Loafers or ballet slippers...have to "blend" :)

I've only been once and even then it was only for 3 days, insert sad music. I decided to be chic and blend but every night I wanted to cut my feet off, was almost in tears. If I ever get to go again, I'll find a compromise.

Andrea,

What sweet photographs of your parents. I think the classic attire is due more to the year than the destination. I have many photos of my parents looking much the same taken on this side of the pond. As for me, I'd pack both, comfort and style!

Deborah
