Urban Hipsters

This is the label for the young Los Angeles style-makers; they are called "Urban Hipsters" by the cognoscenti. The two on the left here are stylists/directors for a very well-known clothing & accessory line based in LA; phenomenally personal style though you can't see their whole outfits here. The one on the far right, let's file her under equally-phenomenal style, second label, Adorable :) Laura & I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market today for our second showing. If you have visited Flea Markets around the world, you know that the Rose Bowl event is unlike any other, and it oozes LA style. Our theme today was along the lines of Femme, Holiday & Nesting... tomorrow we will show you booth shots~ Today we wanted to show a few pics of les Femmes de LA and especially their penchant for French stripes, bleu-marine or here, gris~

Are we in Paris or Pasadena, look at this shopper's pose; she was foreign, and very chic in her movements & dress~
Parasols reign, and we sold many of our own today, but loved this peaked one in tones to match her chemise, styled like a Madame Gely Parisian parasol~
and this one, fantastic pattern; again a very chic woman shopping in style~
How often do you see a two-tier parasol~ lovely! That's our chemise de fillette hanging in back~

Back to the stripes, they were everywhere, here with great flare jeans~
Thick or thin, often with a hat due to the heat; this was a funny shot, she was photographing someone else while I was photographing her~

There is a lot of other quirkiness mixed in, this Bumblebee backpack, still it had the stripes...~
as the day wore on, the lemonade sales again went higher, cool with a stripey shirt and again a hat~
these ladies stopped by the booth in stripes of a different size & color~
haha another view a second later, avec paniers, lovely ladies and unusual turban~
here is one of our fav shoppers of the day, so cute; slouchy cotton hat, stripe shirt, and the perfect accessory purchase in Laura's tiered totes~
stripes weren't just for shirts, also seen in bags~
Yes, the striped items still have legs, will they ever go out of style? Check back tomorrow for pics of the booth and merch.

Have only been to the Rose Bowl Flea Market via your blogs. I tend to agree, I think stripes are classic and never go out of style. Love what I see of the booth so far.
